Uh......Cow?

Beautiful title, I know. Anyways, hi Lexi!^^ So, here's the forum and thread. Should we do character sheets or intros? I can do both or either.

I'm keen on intros. I really like writing about my characters that way. ;D

Alick looked out at the bloodied battlegrounds as the sun sank slowly beneath the horizon. Another day was over, and she was still alive. Her secret was yet to be discovered. She had cut her long black hair for the war, no one could discover she was a girl, she had to keep up her muse. Alick's thoughtful hazel eyes scanned the area laid out beyond their camp. It was quiet once more, she could sheath her sword for another sleepless night. She turned her head away and walked towards the camp, turning away from the dead bodies of her comrades and enemies that lay together in the field. She hadn't joined them yet, she was still alive. Barely, though... she though bitterly as she looked at the bleeding slash on her arm, the only exposed area under her greaves. Alick cursed under her breath, as she started her walk toward the medics.

A young soldier named Rafael was exploring the grounds after returning from a short mission. He couldn't believe how many men they'd lost in such a short amount of time. He knew they'd have to request back up but it didn't seem possible to escape the battle grounds long enough before the battles raged again. In what seemed to be a dead silence, Rafael stood staring at the crimson horizon. The strong scent of blood tainted his nostrils as he walked through the field towards the tents. He needed a doctor, his side was gashed badly from an encounter he made on his journey back, but he'd ignored it. Blood loss was starting to get to him however. He felt dizzy. Quickly; ignoring the dead bodies surrounding him, he made his way to the tent.

Alick stood in the medics tent, wincing as her arm was bandaged, but she didn't let the pain show. Don't be a wimp, Alick, she scolded herself, looking around at the soldiers who needed much more attention then her. Her stomach twisted as she saw soldiers being operated on, some of which had the misfortune of still being concious while limbs were hacked off, the medics being unable to salvage them. Alick knew that these were the sights that would never leave her. The killing and smells of blood that filled the battles were nothing. I can stand those. But this...this is... she couldn't think of words to finish her thoughts, and she forced herself to look away as her stomach twisted uncomfortably once more. She forced herself to stare at the ground as one of the soldiers being operated on let out a blood curdling scream before passing out.

Rafael entered the medics tent and sat down on an available table. After removing what seemed like a million layers of armor a doctor was able to look at the huge gash lining his side.

"I'm surprised they didn't cut you in half, it's very deep."

"Yeah well...I guess armor does something." Rafael hissed in pain as the doctor prodded him, trying to clean the wound before bandaging. In a rush he tried to stop the bleeding but it wouldn't cease.

"Stay still, I'm trying to get it to stop before you lose too much."

Rafael gritted his teeth. This was too much. Thankfully he was tough enough to not make a lot of noise.

Alick listened in on the conversation between the soldier who had just entered the medics tent and glanced over at Rafael. I've seen him around some...Wonder how that mission went, she thought curiously, still watching him. Couldn't have gone terribly well with that wound in his side, she thought bitterly, angry that they may have lost more soldiers to a mission.

"You're lucky you're fast. This could've been a lot worse," the doctor said in a monotone voice, interupting Alick's thoughts. She glanced back as he finished bandaging her arm and she winced slightly, but hoped it hadn't been noticable. She just nodded slightly to the doctor, glancing back at Rafael and the soldiers on the operating tables, which were stained in blood. After a moment, she turned and walked out of the tent, going to return to her vigil at the edge of the battlefield.

"Rafael?"

Rafael's face turned horribly white suddenly, he was reeling and swaying by then. The cloth being used to stop the bleeding was now completely blood red, it had once been white.
"Lemme go...I'll be fine." He said weakly, finally the bleeding had stopped and the doctor could only wonder how much had been lost. He stitched the wound and bandaged it before letting the young soldier go. As soon as he got outside he collapsed.

Alick glanced around outside, then she noticed Rafael leaving the medics tent out of the corner of her eye. She glanced over, feeling slightly relieved, then saw him collapse. "Aw, dammit," she cursed under her breath, quickly running over to him. "Hey, you okay?" she asked, not even bothering to try and make her voice deeper. She glanced around at other soldiers who walked by, not seeming to care much. She glared slightly, then started to try to help him up. "Can I get some help?" she called into the medics tent, sounding annoyed.

The doctor who had just cared for him came out, "Ah; not again." He rolled Rafael onto his back and shook him roughly, "Rafael!" He barked, "This isn't the first time he's been so careless. He should have rested. We couldn't get the bleeding to stop earlier, so he lost a lot."

"The idiot," Alick muttered as she watched him. She rubbed her forehead slightly, and looked over her shoulder for a moment. He may be an idiot, but we don't need to lose any more soldiers. We're already pushing our reserves... she thought. "Will he be fine?" she questioned, shifting somewhat.
