LAtif was surprised when he saw Deroux, looking at the bleeding wound. "Hey, what happened?" he asked quickly, almost completely ignoring what he had said. He was more concerned with Deroux's bleeding, being a doctor.

"My daddy threw me. Mama is over there." He called as he ran to the hole where they'd been hiding. "Mama!" He called to Belle. She barely opened her eyes, wounded all over from her husbands beatings. "Deroux?" She got out and lifted him off the ground, blood ran down his neck.

Latif quickly ran after him, coming to a quick stop as he got to the hole. "Belle?" he said in a surprised voice as he looked over all the injuries she'd gotten from Taran. He knelt down next to her, trying to think quickly.

"I'm fine...it's nothing. Please help Deroux, his head is wounded badly."

Deroux seemed oblivious to the bleeding, it was as though he were numb all over.

"You both need help," Latif said quickly, looking between the two. "Belle, do you think you can walk?" he asked, dropping his pack on the ground and digging into it and dragging out some bandaging.

"Yeah, I carried Deroux all the way here." Belle said, she sat down holding her son in her arms. He just stared at Latif with curiosity.

"Alright. I'll be able to bandage you better in a different enviroment," he said, nodding slightly. He then took the bandages and moved forward, reaching out to try and look at Deroux's head wound.

It was just above his neck, a small gash where he'd impacted against the wall. "I got hurt?" He asked.

"Yes, you did. It doesn't look that bad," Latif said, giving a warm smile to Deroux before he tried to stop the bleeding, starting to bandage it in silence.

Belle smiled, "Taran has never hit Deroux before. If anyone got punished it was me." She said weakly, "It's been a very hard life."

As Latif finished bandagin Deroux's gash, he turned to look at Belle. "I'm really sorry, Belle. I wish I'd been here...I might've been able to do something," he said in a quiet voice.

"I stupidly married him thinking he changed. I became pregnant and things got even worse." She looked at her little boy, "He almost wouldn't let me leave the house, I had to work and work..." She said.

"Well, that won't happen again. I promise," Latif said as he looked at her. He was quiet for a moment, then looked down, saying, "We should probably go somewhere where I can help you more."

Belle nodded and stood up, lifting Deroux off the ground silently and walking away from her past as soon as they got up.

"Should we go to your mother's? Her house is closer than where my family probably still lives," he siad, glancing at her.
