what will happen in the future?

Post  erica12 on Wed Jun 17, 2009 2:39 am

The Earth has warmed up by about 0.6°C in the last 100 years. During this period, man-made emissions of greenhouse gases have increased, largely as a result of the burning of fossil fuels and deforestation. In the last 20 years, concern has grown that these two phenomena are, at least in part, associated with each other. That is to say, global warming is now considered most probably to be due to the enhanced greenhouse effect.

feels good.

True. But the Earth has always gone through cycles of heating and cooling. Remember the Ice Age? Those weren't the end of the world. And also, as the summers get hotter, so do the winters. The last time I worse sweaters in October was about 5 or 6 years ago. And also, for the part of the ice burgs in the Arctic Circle that are shrinking, the other side of that ice burg is swelling rapidly. It's a big fuss over natural occurances. Yes, fossil fules are bad. But they haven't been used near long enough to have that drastic an affect on the Earth.
